Tormento, stage name of Massimiliano Cellamaro, is an Italian rapper and singer-songwriter, best known as the frontman of Sottotono, one of the most influential hip-hop groups in Italy during the ‘90s. With a unique style and an unmistakable voice, he helped popularize melodic rap in Italy, blending R&B sounds with deep and personal lyrics. After Sottotono disbanded in the early 2000s, he pursued a solo career, experimenting with new sounds and collaborating with numerous artists from the urban scene. In 2021, he revived Sottotono with a new album, reaffirming his status as an icon of Italian hip-hop.
